Graeme RIP
It is with deep sadness that I have to tell you that Graeme died last night at 8.30 pm. I was called by the hospice early yesterday morning to say that he had deteriorated and was unconscious, looking very peaceful when I arrived. He remained peacefully sleeping as family arrived during the day to be with him in his last hours. We had tears and laughter as befits him.
As he wished he went to sleep and did not wake up again.
Details of the funeral will follow but I am planning on Tuesday 2nd June - ladies get those hats bought! Graeme requested no flowers but donations be made to Cancer Research or St Margaret's Hospice.
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. Deuteronomy 33:27
Dear Fiona, I am holding you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Fiona
We have never met but I have been following Graeme’s excellent blog for the last few months and I just wanted to say how sorry I am to read that Graeme has lost his last fight.
Graeme and I were briefly acquaintances at St Mark’s Youth Club in the 70’s but I’ve not kept in touch, although we did meet at the St Marks reunion a couple of years ago.
I have been so impressed by his blog – by his wit and observations on life and obvious goodness and by the great number of his friends and acquaintances. He (and no doubt you, too) led a most interesting life and I have no doubt that he will be remembered with great affection by a very great many people.
My heart goes out to you and to all your family. No doubt your faith will be a comfort to you in the difficult days ahead but if it helps, be assured of the warm thoughts and sympathy of those of us who followed Graeme’s adventures in Somersetland from an electronic distance.
When I first started to read the blog, I emailed him and invited him to join me for a gin and tonic one day when he was in Epsom (I live nearby) but sadly it was never to be, though he did threaten to drop in one day! I will raise a glass of the finest Gordon’s on June 2nd.
God be with you and all your family.

Dearest Fiona,
I know I only met you once when I stayed during my own troubles many years ago. I am so sorry to learn that G has passed away. I read from your entry that he was at peace when he went. My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family. May I say that he is missed by me and I think of him often; his funny, thoughtful and great personality makes me smile.
God bless you and keep you
